Sharp AR-235 Toner Cartridges Printer Review
Expert review of the Sharp AR-235 printer 06 December 2012
This digital copier is a powerful workhorse with multifunction capabilities, a speedy 1200dpi laser print engine, and a straightforward user interface that helps save time and improve productivity. The Sharp AR-235 multifunction copier is a useful fax machine and scanner, too, and it can be connected to a PC when required. Unfortunately, upgrading the Sharp AR235 digital copier to make it more versatile means spending a lot of money.
This simple 47.8Kg all-in-one copier is quite large and bulkier than its predecessors, measuring approximately 628mm wide and 643mm tall. The Sharp AR-235 mono laser printer demands more space on its sides because of the output trays, which are designed to stick out of the body. The top part is home to the flatbed scanner with the automatic document feeder, while the main 1,000-sheet capacity paper cassettes are stacked on top of each other below the control panel.
The Sharp AR-235 laser printer produces high quality output because of the 1200dpi resolution and the digital auto exposure system, which optimises graphics so they retain their detail even when printed in grey-scale. Print and copy speeds are impressive, at up to 23ppm, while the built-in duplexer helps save time and effort for two-sided printing needs. Users can upgrade the Sharp AR-235 printer for higher paper capacity or memory, as well as to include network scanning, printing, or faxing options. Another benefit of having this copier is that the black Sharp AR-235 toner cartridge can last for approximately 25,000 pages, helping to increase workflow and minimising printer downtime.
Innovative features such as faxing, network scanning, and network printing are optional, and these add-ons are quite expensive. The device is slow to warm up, and because it is heavy, mobility is also limited. Compatibility is another issue with the Sharp AR-235 copier, especially with higher versions of Mac and Windows like Windows 7, Windows XP, and Mac OS X.
